Google+ App Brings Hangouts to the iPad
The Google+ app for the iPad is finally here. Aside from adding a bit of Flipboard-esque flash to surfing updates from your social network, the app also turns Google+ into a solid business tool with Hangouts–the Google+ video chat capability.
One of the crucial pieces missing for Google+ has been the lack of an iPad app. Sure, the iPhone app works–in a technical sense–on an iPad, but only in a small, iPhone-sized window or grainy, magnified version with an experience that didn’t take advantage of the display size or capabilities of the iPad.

Microsoft White Labels Azure In Windows Server 2012
Private cloud computing is not just about technology, but about how IT deivers services. To be successfull, tehe roles that staff plays is changing as well. Here’s how to adapt. Microsoft is building Azure management capabilities into its upcoming release of Windows Server 2012, including the automated provisioning of virtual machines. The move amounts to white labeling Azure: it will give third-party hosting services the opportunity to create mini-Azure cloud services under their own brand.
Many attribute the move to Microsoft’s wish to better compete with Amazon, but it more closely aligns with trying to match VMware’s growing strength in establishing public clouds compatible with its own virtualization software. Third-party providers are adopting VMware’s vCloud Director, which functions as a cloud operating system pooling virtual resources and provisioning virtual machines.

VMware Adds Oracle Database Support To vFabric
The trend of virtualizing more of the enterprise data center–the database system as well as applications–got a boost Tuesday when VMware announced that its vFabric Data Director 2.0 now supports running Oracle 10g and 11g in virtual machines.
Data Director 2.0 allows a database or virtualization administrator to manage the database system through automated procedures and virtualization policies that resemble those already in use to manage other VMs in the data center.
