30 Days With Google+: Day 30
I have invested 29 days (and then some) diving into the Google+ social network and exploring what it has to offer. Now, Google has cut the ribbon and opened the door to the general public, so Google+ is an official social network ready to go head to head with Facebook.
The question, though, is can it compete with Facebook?

So why are the network fabrics proprietary? There is a disconnect between what we are hearing from IT and what vendors are offering, and it seems to me that vendors are collectively shooting themselves in their feet.

September 24, 2011 at 7:17 am In a surprise development, HP has named former eBay CEO Meg Whitman to replace Leo Apotheker as president and CEO of Hewlett-Packard, based on disappointment in his failure to execute on the company’s new strategy. Whitman pledged support for HP’s strategy of building its enterprise software business and making a decision by the end of the year on whether to spin off its Personal Systems Group (PSG), which sells desktop, laptop and tablet computers to consumers.

Along with the transition from Field Trial to Beta, Google also introduced a number of changes to the Google+ social network that might make it a more attractive platform for business use.
The Hangouts feature has been updated and expanded, and the Huddles feature of the Google+ mobile app has some new tricks and a new name. With the floodgates open and the new changes rolled out, businesses can use the Google+ social network for video conferencing, online presentations and general collaboration.
