Lately, the solutions I’ve analyzed through the lens of BYOD have usually had something to do with smartphone and application management. But Wi-Fi vendors are also well aware of the procedural and technical complexities spawned by clients that show up with all sorts of gadgets that need to simply work on the WLAN. Meru Networks has recently introduced a new feature set for their WLAN product line that helps with BYOD and other aspects of today’s changing wireless landscape.

Juniper Offers OpenFlow Source Code To Developers
Juniper Networks is jumping on the OpenFlow bandwagon, putting the OpenFlow source code in the Junos SDK. The company says that the OpenFlow application works within the SDK to change the control plane to create more dynamic network programmability for custom applications that run on top of the Junos operating system.

Infineta Launches Pay-As-You-Go WAN Optimization Service
There are three objectives behind the launch of Infineta Systems’ pay-as-you-go WAN optimization service offering built around the company’s DMS product, says Haseeb Budhani, VP, products. Originally intended to address customers who were facing data migration projects but didn’t want WAN optimization, the new service also appeals to service providers who don’t want to spend anything on CapEx and want to do it all in OpEx.

Why Are You Still Using Windows XP?
A lot has happened since 2001. Technology evolves rapidly, and you won’t find many instances of someone using the same technology today that they used a decade ago. Yet, Windows XP just turned 10 years old and many businesses and users still rely on the antiquated operating system.

Can ShoreTel Be Everyone’s Mobility Solution?

Dell Boomi Upgrades Simplify Cloud Integration
Less than a year after acquiring Boomi, a SaaS integration developer for cloud computing, Dell is unveiling its second major release of its AtomSphere offering, Fall 11. The company says it has seen 300% YOY growth in overall usage, with customers now averaging 3.7 atoms (run-time integration engines), 11 connections of integrated applications and over 600 process executions per day.
