On Tuesday Nasuni, a relative newcomer to storage, will officially unveil multi-site access for its data continuity services. By extending file-level snapshots to create an architecture that allows multiple storage controllers to have live access to the same volume of snapshots, the new service provides organizations with a simple, safe and secure way to share data across any number of sites, says Nasuni CEO Andres Rodriguez.

Why Steve Jobs Is Right about Android
Over the weekend I wrote an article titled “What If Steve Jobs Is Right?” As the title implies, the post was a hypothetical look at the possibility that Steve Jobs’ assertion that Android is a “stolen product” is true.
Many of the comments I have received on the article itself, as well as on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ seem to be based on emotion and the personal opinion the commenter holds of Apple and Steve Jobs. Those things have nothing to do, though, with patent law or the realities of whether or not Android infringes on Apple patents.

The roughly 40MB utility installs as an option in the Windows Control Panel–just click Start, Control Panel, iCloud to access the tool and manage your iCloud account, as well as what information is synced between iCloud and your Windows PC or Microsoft Outlook software.

Cisco Fellow On Possible Threat To Cisco Of OpenFlow: ‘Folks Get This’
Software-defined networking, an emerging technology that moves intelligence out of switches and routers to a software controller, is seen as a potential threat to networking vendors, particularly market leader Cisco Systems, but a Cisco fellow speaking at an SDN conference this week said the company is aware of the situation and is preparing to deal with it.

Cloud services provider Dome9 Security is looking to provide comprehensive firewall capabilities around cloud services and bring some control to the security of private, public and hybrid clouds. In essence, Dome9 is a “cloud server firewall”, basically a cloud security service that provides complete control over access to a hosted cloud service.
