Fragmentation of the Android platform is being blamed for a decline in developer enthusiasm for the mobile OS, but the real fragmentation challenge for app developers is a much broader issue than just Android.
Granted, there are some fragmentation hurdles that seem to be unique to Android. Compared with other mobile platforms–especially Apple’s iOS–the diversity of hardware capabilities and form factors, and the variety of flavors of Android currently in use can make it more complex to develop and test apps for Android.

April 26, 2011 at 12:17 pm With the release of ILIO 2.0, a software virtual appliance that complements Citrix XenDesktop and VMware View VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) deployments, Atlantis Computing says that it is cutting VDI CapEx costs by up to 75 percent while enabling the use of lower-cost storage options. Pricing starts at $ 150 per desktop, as opposed to the as much as $ 1,000 per desktop VDI users must pay for storage to achieve a level of performance comparable to a physical PC.
